On November 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 17,892 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 17,892 new cases, 17,841 are domestic and 51 are imported. The CECC announced 31 deaths today.

Regarding the 17,841 new domestic cases, 8,197 are male and 9,629 are female, while the gender of the other 15 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,951 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,332 in Taichung City, 2,288 in Kaohsiung City, 2,023 in Taoyuan City, 1,664 in Tainan City, 1,531 in Taipei City, 889 in Changhua County, 578 in Pingtung County, 547 in Hsinchu County, 539 in Hsinchu City, 443 in Miaoli County, 413 in Yunlin County, 290 in Chiayi County, 282 in Yilan County, 252 in Keelung City, 222 in Nantou County, 210 in Chiayi City, 198 in Hualien County, 118 in Taitung County, 34 in Penghu County, 32 in Kinmen County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 31 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 20 men and 11 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 51 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 23 and November 22, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,968,622 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,754,925. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,210,955 cases. Of the 8,210,955 confirmed cases, 37,367 are imported; 8,173,534 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,060 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,060 deaths, 14,043 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
