CECC confirms 1 more indigenous COVID-19 case; contact of Case #322 confirmed to have COVID-19

On April 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed indigenous case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. A total of 380 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan as of writing. With respect to the indigenous case, Case #380 is an over 20-year-old male and a roommate of Case #322. Case #380 didn’t develop any symptoms. After health agencies identified him as a contact of Case #322, the agencies arranged his COVID-19 testing on April 6. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 9. Health agencies have disinfected the two cases’ university campus and dorm. Additionally, their university began to implement remote teaching measures on April 6, which will last until April 17.
