CECC confirms 83 more COVID-19 cases, including 37 domestic cases and 46 imported cases

On February 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 83 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 83 new cases, 37 are domestic and 46 are imported (15 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, three are male, and 22 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is being investigated. They are between ten and 59 years old.

Regarding the 46 new imported cases, they are 23 men and 23 women, aged between under five and 79 years. 30 of them arrived in Taiwan from the US (six cases), India (six cases), the Philippines (five cases), Brazil (two cases), Cambodia, Vietnam, Switzerland, France, the UAE, China, Indonesia, Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, and Spain; the areas where the remaining 16 cases arrived are being investigated. They all arrived between January 25 and February 10, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,889,595 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,869,720. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 19,376 cases. Of the 19,376 confirmed cases, 4,047 are imported; 15,275 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 130 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 851 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 851 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
