CECC confirms 4 more imported COVID-19 cases

On October 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are all women, aged between 10 to 39 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Hungary, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the US. They arrived between October 6 and October 17.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,781,738 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,764,827. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,347 cases. Of the 16,347 confirmed cases, 1,708 are imported; 14,585 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 846 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 846 deaths, 834 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
