CECC confirms 36,707 more COVID-19 cases, including 36,393 domestic cases and 314 imported cases

On September 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 36,707 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 36,707 new cases, 36,393 are domestic and 314 are imported. The CECC announced 21 deaths today.

Regarding the 36,393 new domestic cases, 16,699 are male and 19,670 are female, while the gender of the other 24 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 7,795 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,606 in Taipei City, 4,574 in Taichung City, 3,588 in Taoyuan City, 2,894 in Kaohsiung City, 2,183 in Tainan City, 1,540 in Changhua County, 1,045 in Hsinchu County, 933 in Pingtung County, 925 in Miaoli County, 894 in Hsinchu City, 884 in Yilan County, 854 in Yunlin County, 758 in Hualien County, 660 in Keelung City, 581 in Nantou County, 555 in Chiayi County, 369 in Chiayi City, 331 in Taitung County, 186 in Penghu County, 156 in Kinmen County, and 22 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 21 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 13 men and eight women ranging in age from 10 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 314 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 6 and September 5, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 16,492,624 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,981,611. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,503,725 cases. Of the 5,503,725 confirmed cases, 29,391 are imported; 5,474,280 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,115 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,115 deaths, 10,099 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
