On June 16, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the second batch of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine containing 73,200 doses will be distributed to contracted healthcare facilities, and individuals in the first to third priority groups will be able to get vaccinated beginning June 18. Booking a vaccination appointment at a contracted healthcare facility will start for the above-mentioned individuals beginning June 18 to build herd immunity.

According to vaccine safety monitoring data collected after vaccine rollouts in other countries, rare cases of adverse reactions, such as myocarditis, following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination in the young population have been reported, and most of the cases have occurred within a few days after vaccination. The CECC reminds members of the public to seek immediate medical attention and inform the doctor of vaccination history if they experience symptoms, such as chest pain, shortness of breath or palpitations, following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.
