On April 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 982 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 982 new cases, 874 are domestic and 108 are imported (75 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the 874 new domestic cases, 450 are male and 423 are female while the gender of the other one is still under investigation. They range in age from under five to 109 years. They suffered the onset of symptoms between April 2 and April 14, while 467 of them didn't develop symptoms. Of those domestic cases, 360 were reported in New Taipei City, 164 in Taipei City, 87 in Taoyuan City, 60 in Keelung City, 46 in Hualien County, 42 in Kaohsiung City, 25 in Taichung City, 23 in Hsinchu County, 19 in Tainan City, 15 in Yilan County, 11 in Hsinchu City, five in Pingtung County, four in Taitung County, three each in Nantou County, Changhua County, and Miaoli County, two in Chiayi City, and one each in Yunlin County and Chiayi County.

Regarding the 108 new imported cases, they are 50 men and 58 women ranging in age from under five to 79 years. Of the cases, 16 arrived from Vietnam, 3 from Thailand, two from Australia, and one each from Japan and the US; the areas the remaining 85 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between March 17 and April 13, 2022.

Additionally, domestic case #29450 announced on April 13 has been reclassified as an imported case after an epidemiological investigation found the case had arrived from Vietnam on April 2.

The CECC reported that a total of 7,541,156 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 7,510,160. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 30,574 cases. Of the 30,574 confirmed cases, 9,374 are imported; 21,146 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 189 cases (one newly added; one imported case was removed due to duplicate records) have been removed as confirmed cases.
