Health Minister Yang expresses his gratitude to families of suspected vaccine-related deaths for agreeing to autopsy

On January 7, 2010, Health Minister Jhih-Liang Yang called a press conference to express his gratitude to the families of the suspected vaccine-related deaths for agreeing to performing an autopsy in order to determine if the cause of death is associated with the pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine.

As of 2pm on January 7, 2010, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has received 17 reports of suspected-vaccine related death.The assessment results of 6 cases have been made available.None of the 6 deaths is caused by the H1N1 vaccine.Please see the attached document for more details.

CECC will continue to assist independent causality assessment authorities in identifying the cause of the other suspected vaccine-related deaths.
