CECC confirms 4 more indigenous cases; contacts of confirmed cases found to have COVID-19

On May 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed indigenous cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those four new cases, three (Cases #1134-1136) are family members of and lives with Case #1129, and one (Case #1137) is a family member of and lives with Case #1102 and Case #1133

Case #1134 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s who is a family member of and lives with Case #1129. He developed muscle pains and coughing on April 29. The health authority arranged for him to be tested for COVID-19 on April 30. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 2 (the CT value was 29).


Case #1135 is a Taiwanese male in his 60s who is a family member of and lives with Case #1129. He experienced a cough, a fever, and diarrhea on April 29. The health authority then arranged for him to be tested on April 30. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 2 (the CT value was 18).

Case #1136 is a Taiwanese female in her 30s who is a family member of and lives with Case #1129. She began to experience a sore throat and a fever between April 28 and April 29 The health authority then arranged for her to be tested on April 30; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 2 (the CT value was 19).


Case #1137 is a Taiwanese girl under the age of five who is a family member of and lives with Case #1102 and Case #1133 announced yesterday. She didn't experience any suspected symptoms during the time period. The health authority then arranged for her to be tested on April 30; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 2 (the CT value was 26).
