To reinforce health education, a routine press conference is held at 2pm daily. For proper communications with the public, the National Communications Commission and the Government Information Office have made plans to requisition 14 television channels to convey correct information for one minute every night at 7pm and at 9pm. CECC plans to explain relevant measures to the public through these channels from now on.During the routine press release conference held on May 5, 2009, the Ministry of Education discussed the latest decisions concerning the organization of the basic competence test for junior high school students in light of recent outbreaks of influenza A (H1N1) overseas.

The 2 million facemasks released by CECC for sale to the public are packaged 5 per bag and will be available for purchase on May 7, 2009.The commanding officer of CECC once again urged that it is not necessary to rush to buy face masks because the purpose of wearing a facemask is preventing passing the disease to other people. In addition, the commanding officer emphasized that only people who are sick should wear a facemask and avoid visiting crowded places, and frequent hand-washing is an effective way to reduce transmission of disease. Therefore, people who cough or are sick and healthcare personnel with a need for facemasks should have the priority for using facemasks.Further, hand sanitizer is primarily meant for use by the healthcare personnel.Hand-washing with soap and water is effective enough for the general public to prevent disease transmission.

On the other hand, CECC approved the standards for school closure and other relevant measures to be implemented will be announced by the Central Personnel Administration and the Council of Labor Affairs.
