March 13, 2012--As of March 13, 2012, 14 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications had been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2012. In 2011, 58 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications had been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC. The 14 cases confirmed in 2012 are aged below 10 years (See Table 1(pdf file)) and reside in the northern, central, eastern and southern areas of Taiwan. (See Fig. 1(pdf file))

No case was newly confirmed in Week 10 (March 7 to March 13). (See Fig. 2(pdf file))
