During Week 34, 2016 (August 21 to 27, 2016,Fig. 1), 1 sever case due to enterovirus infection was newly confirmed. A total of 17 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications (EVSC) have been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2016. The majority of cases were aged 0-3 (Table 1). Sixteen cases were infected with EV71 and 1 case was infected with Coxsackie A5.Figure 2 displays the geographical distribution of these cases according to their residence.
