During Week 25 (June 18th to 24th) in 2017, two new cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications (EVSC) were confirmed (Figure 1). These cases were infected with ECHO 5 and Coxsackie A6, respectively.

A total of four EVSC has been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2017. The majority of cases were among one year of age (Table 1). Two cases were caused by Coxsackie A6, one case was caused by Coxsackie A2, and one case was caused by ECHO 5. Figure 2 shows the geographical distribution of these cases according to their residence.
