November 15, 2011--As of November 15, 2011, 24 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications had been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC. These cases are aged below 10 years (See Table 1(pdf file)) and reside in the northern, central, eastern and southern areas of Taiwan. (See Fig. 1(pdf file))

Four cases were confirmed in Week 45 (November 9 to November 15). They are 3-year-old girl from Tainan City, 5-year-old girl from Changhua County, 1-year-old boy and 5-year-old boy from Chiayi County. Their infections were caused by EV71, and they had been discharged. (see Fig. 2(pdf file))
