October 11, 2011--As of October 11, 2011, 14 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications had been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC. These cases are aged below 10 years (See Table 1(pdf file)) and reside in the northern, central, eastern and southern areas of Taiwan. (See Fig. 1(pdf file))

Two cases were confirmed in Week 40 (October 5 to October 11). They are 3-year-old boy from Taichung City and 2-year-old boy from Yunlin County. Their infections were caused by EV 71, and they had been discharged. (see Fig. 2(pdf file))
