We collected chiggers mainly from rodents and shrews in Taiwan, and also collected samples from other hosts, such as birds, bats, reptiles and carnivores. Identification, measurement and drawings of chigger mites are proceeded, and a total of 2 families, 2 subfamilies, 12 genera and 38 species of chigger mites are described, with detailed morphology, distributions and keys provided for future studies.
