On February 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced two new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and one new death in Taiwan. Those two new cases, Case #919 and Case #920, arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia and the United States, respectively.

Case #919 is an over 40-year-old man from Indonesia. The Indonesian man traveled to Taiwan to work as a sailor on January 10. After completing the self-health management period, the Indonesian sailor visited the hospital to take a self-paid COVID-19 test at his employer's request on February 2. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on February 4.

Case #920 is an over 60-year-old woman from the United States. The American woman traveled to Taiwan on January 15. She hasn't developed symptoms since arrival. As she planned to travel back to the United States on February 6, she visited the hospital to take a self-paid COVID-19 test on February 3. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on February 4.

The CECC pointed out that the new death was Case #799, a British man in his 70s. The British man developed disease symptoms on December 26, 2020, and sought medical attention on December 29. Because his health condition deteriorated, he passed away on February 3, 2021.

The CECC reported that a cumulative total of 161,613 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 156,448. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 919 cases. Of the 919 confirmed cases, 805 are imported; 75 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; and 1 case (Case #530) has been removed (Case #530 is not assigned to any patients). Of the confirmed cases, there have been 9 deaths, and 839 patients have been released from isolation, with the other 71 patients remaining hospitalized in isolation.
