On February 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 80 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 80 new cases, seven are domestic and 73 are imported (45 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic cases, they are three men and four women, aged between 30 and 79 years.

Regarding the 73 new imported cases, they are 43 men and 30 women, aged between under five and 79 years. Of the cases, ten arrived in Taiwan from the Philippines, seven each from the US and France, four from Vietnam, two each from India, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, and one each from Thailand, South Africa, Spain, Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, the UK, Estonia, and Argentina; the areas the remaining 28 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between February 4 and February 23, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,236,894 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,216,276. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 20,236 cases. Of the 20,236 confirmed cases, 4,781 are imported; 15,401 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 134 cases have been removed as confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 852 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 852 deaths, 839 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
