CECC confirms 16,619 more COVID-19 cases, including 16,578 domestic cases and 41 imported cases


On November 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 16,619 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 16,619 new cases, 16,578 are domestic and 41 are imported. The CECC announced 40 deaths today.

Regarding the 16,578 new domestic cases, 7,850 are male and 8,722 are female, while the gender of the other six cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,640 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,324 in Taichung City, 2,225 in Kaohsiung City, 1,811 in Taoyuan City, 1,646 in Tainan City, 1,315 in Taipei City, 901 in Changhua County, 514 in Pingtung County, 442 in Yunlin County, 426 in Hsinchu City, 417 in Hsinchu County, 394 in Miaoli County, 299 in Nantou County, 258 in Chiayi County, 232 in Yilan County, 188 in Hualien County, 187 in Keelung City, 179 in Chiayi City, 83 in Taitung County, 50 in Kinmen County, 42 in Penghu County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 40 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 29 men and 11 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 41 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 18 and November 13, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,760,140 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,708,895. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,050,901 cases. Of the 8,050,901 confirmed cases, 36,977 are imported; 8,013,870 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,602 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,602 deaths, 13,585 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
