On August 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan.

Regarding the seven new imported cases, they are three men and four women, aged between 20 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Sweden, the US, Indonesia (three cases), and India (two cases). They arrived between August 13 and August 25.

The CECC also announced one death today. Regarding the one death, Case #14879 was an over 60-year-old male with chronic disease.

The CECC reported that a total of 2,596,704 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 2,579,635. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 15,954 cases. Of the 15,954 confirmed cases, 1,392 are imported; 14,509 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 833 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 833 deaths, 825 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases.
