CECC confirms 47,051 more COVID-19 cases, including 46,795 domestic cases and 256 imported cases


On September 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 47,051 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 47,051 new cases, 46,795 are domestic and 256 are imported. The CECC announced 17 deaths today.

Regarding the 46,795 new domestic cases, 21,734 are male and 25,047 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 9,618 were reported in New Taipei City, 6,081 in Taichung City, 5,619 in Taipei City, 4,519 in Taoyuan City, 3,928 in Kaohsiung City, 3,028 in Tainan City, 2,217 in Changhua County, 1,329 in Hsinchu County, 1,304 in Pingtung County, 1,157 in Yunlin County, 1,156 in Miaoli County, 1,059 in Yilan County, 961 in Hsinchu City, 926 in Keelung City, 910 in Nantou County, 833 in Hualien County, 819 in Chiayi County, 550 in Chiayi City, 374 in Taitung County, 193 in Penghu County, 187 in Kinmen County, and 27 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 17 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were nine men and eight women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 256 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between August 14 and September 12, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 16,861,750 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,100,702. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 5,754,683 cases. Of the 5,754,683 confirmed cases, 31,144 are imported; 5,723,485 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 10,329 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 10,329 deaths, 10,313 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
