On October 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32,117 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32,117 new cases, 32,068 are domestic and 49 are imported. The CECC announced 57 deaths today.

Regarding the 32,068 new domestic cases, 14,844 are male and 17,207 are female, while the gender of the other 17 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 6,162 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,865 in Taichung City, 3,627 in Taoyuan City, 3,413 in Taipei City, 3,284 in Kaohsiung City, 2,293 in Tainan City, 1,732 in Changhua County, 930 in Pingtung County, 912 in Hsinchu County, 812 in Yunlin County, 817 in Miaoli County, 719 in Hsinchu City, 641 in Yilan County, 558 in Keelung City, 538 in Chiayi County, 525 in Nantou County, 409 in Hualien County, 323 in Chiayi City, 228 in Taitung County, 134 in Kinmen County, 119 in Penghu County, and 18 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 57 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 35 men and 22 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 49 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 11 and October 9, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 18,403,139 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,496,800. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 6,903,610 cases. Of the 6,903,610 confirmed cases, 35,455 are imported; 6,868,101 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 11,584 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 11,584 deaths, 11,568 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
