On November 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will temporarily suspend its use of the key high-risk country list that includes countries in this list mainly because of the Delta variant, and that the quarantine measures applicable to arrivals from areas under Level 3 travel notice will apply to arrivals from India, the UK, and Myanmar starting 00:00 on November 6 (time of arrival in Taiwan).

The CECC explained that with the continued spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, before boarding the flight to Taiwan, all travelers arriving from areas under Level 3 travel notice must provide a COVID-19 RT-PCR test report issued within three days prior to the flight schedule time. Before departure, travelers coming to Taiwan must arrange a place (a quarantine hotel or a room in a group quarantine facility at their own expense) where they can undergo quarantine. Travelers are also required to take a deep-throat saliva test (for PCR testing) after arrival and to take a quarantine vehicle to a quarantine hotel or a group quarantine facility where they plan to complete the 14-day quarantine at their own expense after testing. Travelers shall also undergo a PCR test before the end of their quarantine (between the 12th and 14th day of quarantine) and take a rapid test using an at-home test kit on the 6th day or 7th day of their self-health management period. Additionally, travelers should voluntarily report their test result back via text message.
