On June 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that 1.24 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine provided by the Japanese government will arrive at Taoyuan International Airport at 14:40 on June 4. The shipment of 1.24 million vaccine doses will be offered to individuals to be vaccinated under the national COVID-19 vaccination program after completion of the subsequent testing and lot release procedures.

The CECC hereby expresses its deep gratitude and appreciation to the government and people of Japan for providing COVID-19 vaccine doses to Taiwan, which can greatly help the country to fight against the virus, during the tough times Taiwan is facing in the pandemic and amid the global shortage of vaccine supplies.
