CECC confirms 21,737 more COVID-19 cases, including 21,460 domestic cases and 277 imported cases


On July 24, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 21,737 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 21,737 new cases, 21,460 are domestic and 277 are imported. The CECC announced 65 deaths today.

Regarding the 21,460 new domestic cases, 9,897 are male and 11,554 are female, while the gender of the other nine cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 3,747 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,632 in Taichung City, 2,270 in Taoyuan City, 2,204 in Taipei City, 2,147 in Kaohsiung City, 1,771 in Tainan City, 1,020 in Changhua County, 627 in Pingtung County, 624 in Hsinchu County, 575 in Yilan County, 554 in Miaoli County, 526 in Hsinchu City, 525 in Yunlin County, 435 in Chiayi County, 353 in Hualien County, 342 in Nantou County, 327 in Keelung City, 249 in Chiayi City, 222 in Taitung County, 188 in Kinmen County, 102 in Penghu County, and 20 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 65 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 42 men and 23 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 277 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between April 19 and July 23, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,537,944 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,100,780. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,430,583 cases. Of the 4,430,583 confirmed cases, 18,464 are imported; 4,412,065 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,596 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,596 deaths, 8,581 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
