Government-funded COVID-19 vaccine available to fourth priority group as of April 14, 2021

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the globe, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announces that beginning April 14, 2021, the government-funded COVID-19 vaccine is available to individuals in the fourth priority group, i.e., those who must travel abroad due to special circumstances such as diplomatic personnel and other personnel engaging in official business and athletes and competitors representing Taiwan overseas.

The CECC clarifies that individuals in the fourth priority group who require vaccinations must first obtain approval from the regulatory authority of the respective business, which must then request approval from the CECC. Regulatory authorities have already begun compiling lists of personnel requiring vaccinations. The CECC urges individuals who have received official notification from the regulatory authority to schedule a vaccination online or via phone at the healthcare facility designated by the relevant county, city, or special municipality. Individuals eligible for the vaccine should arrive on time for their appointment and must present their National Health Insurance Card and other necessary identity documents before being vaccinated.
