On September 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced six new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the six new cases, two are domestic and the other four are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the two domestic cases, Case #16121is a Taiwanese female in her 50s, and Case #16122 is a Taiwanese male in his teens. They began to develop a sore throat and other symptoms on August 26 and September 1, respectively.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are two men and two women, aged between 30 to 59 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US (two cases), Thailand, and Australia. They arrived between August 31 and September 1.

The CECC reported that a total of 2,756,726 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 2,739,013. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,012 cases. Of the 16,012 confirmed cases, 1,428 are imported; 14,531 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 837 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 837 deaths, 827 are from domestic cases and the other 10 are from imported cases.
