CECC confirms 54 more cases of BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants, including 2 domestic cases and 52 imported cases; one more case of Omicron subvariant BA.2.75 detected at border


On August 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 54 new confirmed cases of the Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5; two of the cases are domestic and the other cases are imported. The CECC also announced one new case of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.75 detected at the border. As of now, there have been a cumulative total of 62 imported cases of BA.4 and 405 imported cases of BA.5. Furthermore, there have been a cumulative total of five confirmed domestic cases of BA.5 and two confirmed domestic cases of BA.2.75.
