On November 18, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 20,127 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 20,127 new cases, 20,078 are domestic and 49 are imported. The CECC announced 77 deaths today.

Regarding the 20,078 new domestic cases, 9,188 are male and 10,884 are female, while the gender of the other six cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 3,316 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,670 in Kaohsiung City, 2,545 in Taichung City, 2,115 in Taoyuan City, 1,949 in Tainan City, 1,837 in Taipei City, 974 in Changhua County, 657 in Pingtung County, 577 in Hsinchu County, 469 in Yunlin County, 469 in Hsinchu City, 464 in Miaoli County, 368 in Chiayi County, 363 in Nantou County, 323 in Yilan County, 318 in Keelung City, 235 in Chiayi City, 223 in Hualien County, 119 in Taitung County, 43 in Kinmen County, 39 in Penghu County, and five in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 77 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 46 men and 31 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 49 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 17 and November 15, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,840,554 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,725,592. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,112,234 cases. Of the 8,112,234 confirmed cases, 37,113 are imported; 8,075,067 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,791 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,791 deaths, 13,774 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
