On November 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 24,974 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 24,974 new cases, 24,935 are domestic and 39 are imported. The CECC announced 15 deaths today.

Regarding the 24,935 new domestic cases, 11,678 are male and 13,231 are female, while the gender of the other 26 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 3,734 were reported in Kaohsiung City, 3,722 in New Taipei City, 3,552 in Taichung City, 2,541 in Tainan City, 2,166 in Taoyuan City, 2,107 in Taipei City, 1,292 in Changhua County, 929 in Pingtung County,701 in Yunlin County, 567 in Chiayi County, 555 in Hsinchu County, 546 in Miaoli County, 493 in Hsinchu City, 477 in Nantou County, 380 in Chiayi City, 357 in Yilan County, 255 in Keelung City, 239 in Hualien County, 155 in Taitung County, 94 in Kinmen County, 50 in Penghu County, and 23 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 15 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were five men and 10 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 39 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between October 10 and November 7, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 19,610,282 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,678,499. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 7,929,052 cases. Of the 7,929,052 confirmed cases, 36,720 are imported; 7,892,278 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 13,247 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 13,247 deaths, 13,230 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
