Fifth round of name-based rationing system for at-home COVID-19 rapid test kits to begin on September 1; people can purchase test kits with their NHI cards

On August 31, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the fifth round of name-based rationing system for at-home rapid test kits will start on September 1.

The CECC pointed out that, in this round of the name-based distribution system, the number of rapid tests everyone is allowed to purchase remains to be two packs (ten test kits). People can purchase two packs of rapid tests at a time or separately (purchasing on behalf of others is allowed). One pack (five test kits) is still priced at NT$500. People who need rapid tests can purchase rapid test kits by presenting their NHI cards at NHI-contracted drugstores or public health centers which sell rapid test kits under the name-based distribution system.
