30,000 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Czech government to arrive in Taiwan on afternoon of August 29

On August 29, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that the government of Czech Republic had announced a donation of 30,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine to Taiwan on July 26, and, with cooperative efforts and arrangements between the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and Taiwan's representative office in the Czech Republic, the vaccine doses left Václav Havel Airport Prague in the early morning of August 27 and are scheduled to arrive at Taoyuan International Airport on the afternoon of August 29. This batch of vaccine doses will be offered to individuals to be vaccinated under the national COVID-19 vaccination program after completion of the subsequent testing and lot release procedures.

The CECC hereby expresses its sincere gratitude to the government and people of the Czech Republic for donating the batch of COVID-19 vaccine doses to Taiwan, which can greatly help the country fight against the virus, during the tough time the country is facing in the pandemic and amid the global vaccine supply shortages.
