On March 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 121 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 121 new cases, three are domestic and 118 are imported (64 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic cases, they are one man and two women ranging in age from 20 to 69 years.

Regarding the 118 new imported cases, they are 59 men and 59 women ranging in age from under five to 79 years. Of the cases, 38 arrived in Taiwan from Vietnam, ten each from Indonesia, seven from the US, six from the Philippines, five from Hong Kong, two each from the UAE, Singapore, the UK, Canada, Thailand, and Spain, and one each from Mauritius, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, Tunisia, Cambodia, India, Korea, Ethiopia, the Netherlands, and Kenya; the areas the remaining 29 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between February 2 and March 19, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,730,659 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,708,278. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 21,905 cases. Of the 21,905 confirmed cases, 6,348 are imported; 15,503 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 134 cases have been removed as confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 853 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 853 deaths, 839 are from domestic cases and the other 14 are from imported cases.
