On February 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 56 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 56 new cases, 22 are domestic and 34 are imported (ten of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 11 men and 11 women, aged between under 10 and 79 years.

Regarding the 34 new imported cases, 14 are male and 19 are female while the gender of the other one case is being investigated. They are between 20 and 69 years old. 29 of them arrived in Taiwan from the US (ten cases), China (two cases), the UK (two cases), the Philippines (six cases), Japan (two cases), Australia (two cases), Thailand, Turkey, Germany, Spain, and Sweden; the areas where the remaining nine cases arrived are being investigated. They all arrived between January 15 and February 2, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,709,264 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,687,120. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 18,958 cases. Of the 18,958 confirmed cases, 3,786 are imported; 15,118 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 128 cases (one newly added; removed after testing negative subsequently) have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 851 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 851 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 13 are from imported cases.
