CECC to ease testing measures for visitors in hospitals on December 10


On December 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it will adjust testing rules for people visiting patients in hospitals across Taiwan on December 10; related details are listed below.

A. People with no COVID-19-related symptoms and exposure risk will not be required to provide a negative result of a self-paid, at-home rapid test taken on the day of visit.
B. People should avoid visiting patients in the hospital in the three situations listed below. If visiting patients in the hospital is necessary, visitors should provide a negative result of a self-paid, at-home rapid test taken on the day of visit.
1. When visitors experience COVID-19-related symptoms;
2. When visitors are undergoing self-initiated prevention;
3. When visitors are observing self-health management.
