On January 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32 new cases, six are domestic and the other 26 are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that the domestic cases are two Taiwanese men and four Taiwanese women. They are between under 10 and 49 years old.

Regarding the 26 new imported cases, they are 14 men and 12 women, aged between under five to 79 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US (11 cases), Indonesia (two cases), Myanmar (two cases), Nepal, Belgium, Iceland, Ecuador, the UK, Italy, the Philippines, Denmark, South Africa, France, and Finland. They all arrived between December 26, 2021, and January 9, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,119,134 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,099,767. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 17,393 cases. Of the 17,393 confirmed cases, 2,704 are imported; 14,635 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 114 (one newly added) cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 850 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 850 deaths, 838 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
