CECC plans to set up more community screening sites, epidemic prevention (fever) clinics and encourages basic-level clinics to provide testing to increase testing capacity

On May 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it has drawn up relevant response measures to avoid overcrowding in emergency departments by people visiting hospitals for screening. Details are listed below:

A. Local governments shall set up community testing stations based on the number of cases in their respective cities or counties.
B. Emergency and designated hospitals shall establish epidemic prevention (fever) clinics to treat patients based on their severity and provide related assessments, testing and consultation services for mild or asymptomatic cases who test positive with at-home rapid test kits.
C. Infected people with no symptoms must test positive on a rapid test before undergoing a PCR test. Individuals in home isolation/quarantine should abide by other related screening rules.
D. Basic-level community clinics are encouraged to provide testing services.
E. Hospitals should implement relevant responsive mechanisms, scale back services, and deploy additional workers to support testing, reporting and management of available beds.
