On December 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 14,081 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 14,081 new cases, 14,019 are domestic and 62 are imported. The CECC announced 29 deaths today.

Regarding the 14,019 new domestic cases, 6,251 are male and 7,759 are female, while the gender of the other nine cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,166 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,925 in Taichung City, 1,758 in Kaohsiung City, 1,549 in Taoyuan City, 1,232 in Taipei City, 1,085 in Tainan City, 840 in Changhua County, 447 in Pingtung County, 430 in Hsinchu County, 398 in Yunlin County, 391 in Miaoli County, 381 in Hsinchu City, 249 in Nantou County, 229 in Yilan County, 221 in Chiayi County, 192 in Hualien County, 167 in Keelung City, 143 in Chiayi City, 129 in Taitung County, 58 in Kinmen County, and 29 in Penghu County.

Regarding the 29 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 17 men and 12 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 62 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 3 and November 30, 2022. The CECC reported that a total of 20,143,238 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,799,241. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,343,081 cases. Of the 8,343,081 confirmed cases, 37,832 are imported; 8,305,195 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,416 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,416 deaths, 14,399 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
