On November 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 14 new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Among those 14 new cases, 13 traveled to Taiwan from Indonesia (Cases #627-639), and one arrived from the United States (Case #640).

The 13 cases from Indonesia are all female migrant workers, with their ages ranging between 20 to 50 years old. Among the 13 migrant workers, one (Case #627) arrived in Taiwan on November 11, and the other 12 entered Taiwan on November 12 (they traveled on the same flight as Case #607). Among them, Case #632 notified the health authority that she was experiencing discomfort in her throat on November 19. She didn't seek medical attention because she thought she was having mild symptoms. She developed a runny nose and nasal congestion on November 23, but she didn't report her symptoms. On the other hand, the other 12 Indonesian women haven't developed any symptoms since arrival. All the 13 Indonesian migrant workers were tested for COVID-19 before completing the quarantine period, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on November 27.

Case #640 is a Taiwanese man in his 30s. The Taiwanese man worked in the United States for an extended period of time (his most recent departure from Taiwan was September 2019). He returned to Taiwan to visit family members on November 20 and was asymptomatic upon arrival. The man stayed at a quarantine hotel to undergo quarantine. He began to experience fatigue, a dry throat, and a sore throat on November 21. He notified the health authority on November 25, and the health authority then arranged his medical care and COVID-19 testing. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on November 27.

The CECC reported that a cumulative total of 108,973 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 107,260. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 639 cases. Of the 639 confirmed cases, 547 are imported; 55 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; and 1 case (Case #530) has been removed (Case #530 is not assigned to any patients). Of the confirmed cases, there have been 7 deaths, and 555 patients have been released from isolation, with the other 77 patients remaining hospitalized in isolation.
