CECC confirms 24,093 more COVID-19 cases, including 23,813 domestic cases and 280 imported cases


On July 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 24,093 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 24,093 new cases, 23,813 are domestic and 280 are imported. The CECC announced 86 deaths today.

Regarding the 23,813 new domestic cases, 10,767 are male and 13,034 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,140 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,846 in Taichung City, 2,562 in Taoyuan City, 2,513 in Kaohsiung City, 2,352 in Taipei City, 1,877 in Tainan City, 1,089 in Changhua County, 765 in Pingtung County, 648 in Miaoli County, 644 in Hsinchu County, 601 in Yilan County, 586 in Yunlin County, 569 in Hsinchu City, 499 in Hualien County, 448 in Chiayi County, 434 in Nantou County, 335 in Keelung City, 304 in Taitung County, 283 in Chiayi City, 159 in Kinmen County, 131 in Penghu County, and 28 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 86 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 45 men and 41 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 280 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 25 and July 21, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,455,285 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,062,451. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in4,386,289 cases. Of the 4,386,289 confirmed cases, 17,935 are imported; 4,368,300 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,478 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,478 deaths, 8,463 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
