On December 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 13,152 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 13,152 new cases, 13,098 are domestic and 54 are imported. The CECC announced 33 deaths today.

Regarding the 13,098 new domestic cases, 5,926 are male and 7,160 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,123 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,792 in Kaohsiung City, 1,675 in Taichung City, 1,335 in Taoyuan City, 1,057 in Taipei City, 1,015 in Tainan City, 804 in Changhua County, 443 in Hsinchu County, 437 in Pingtung County, 381 in Miaoli County, 352 in Hsinchu City, 312 in Yunlin County, 257 in Chiayi County, 253 in Nantou County, 190 in Yilan County, 171 in Hualien County, 163 in Chiayi City, 157 in Keelung City, 86 in Taitung County, 56 in Kinmen County, 37 in Penghu County, and two in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 33 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 15 men and 18 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 54 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 4 and December 2, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,160,634 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,803,505. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,356,217 cases. Of the 8,356,217 confirmed cases, 37,886 are imported; 8,318,277 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,449 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,449 deaths, 14,432 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
