10th round of name-based rationing system for at-home COVID-19 rapid test kits to begin on Feb. 1, and people can purchase rapid tests with their NHI cards; children six and under and elderly people 65 and older who are eligible for free rapid tests and haven't collected rapid tests can still get them with their NHI cards before Feb. 28

On January 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the tenth round of the name-based rationing system for at-home rapid test kits will begin on February 1 in response to the public demand for rapid tests. Additionally, children aged six and under (born on or after September 2, 2016) as well as elderly people aged 65 and older (born in 1958 or earlier) who are eligible to collect at-home rapid test kits free of charge in the seventh round and the fifth round of their respective free rapid test distribution programs can still collect free rapid tests by presenting their NHI cards before February 28 if they haven't collected them. A set of five test kits, free of charge, can be collected by presenting an eligible person's NHI card at a designated distribution sites under the name-based rapid test distribution scheme. Free rapid test kits claimed under these programs will not be counted as the number of test kits an individual can buy under the name-based scheme.

The CECC pointed out that in each round, people can buy up to six packs of rapid tests at a time or different times (without limit) and can have a person purchase rapid tests on their behalf. One pack (five rapid tests) is still priced at NT$500.
