Cumulative total of 439 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Taiwan; 339 patients released from isolation


On May 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that 634 additional cases related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were reported on May 5. As of writing, a cumulative total of 65,589 cases have been reported among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 64,247. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 439 cases (Case #439 confirmed today). Of 439 confirmed cases in Taiwan, 348 are imported and 55 are indigenous while 36 are naval personnel aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship. Of the confirmed cases, there have been 6 deaths, and 339 patients have been released from isolation, with the remainder remaining hospitalized in isolation.
