On April 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced two new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The two new cases (Case #1102 and Case #1105) were found to test positive after the CECC started expanded testing among all airline pilots as an Indonesian pilot of a Taiwanese airline had tested positive in Australia.

Case #1102 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s who is a cargo pilot at the airline company which the Indonesian pilot worked for. He was on duty in the United States between April 6 and April 9. After returning to Taiwan, he underwent quarantine until April 14, and tested negative. He was asymptomatic in Taiwan. He was on duty again in the United States between April 19 and April 22. After returning to Taiwan, he quarantined at home, and experienced a cough and fever (37.8°C) on April 24. He was tested on April 25, before completing the quarantine period. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 26 (the CT value was 18).

Case #1105 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s who is also a cargo pilot at the airline company. He was on duty in the United States between April 8 and April 10. After returning to Taiwan, he underwent quarantine until April 15, and tested negative. He was asymptomatic during the quarantine period in Taiwan. On April 25, he was tested in the CECC's expanded testing program for airline pilots. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 26 (the CT value was 32).

The CECC reported that a cumulative total of 203,734 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 201,523. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 1104 cases. Of the 1104 confirmed cases, 979 are imported; 78 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 8 cases' sources of infection are being investigated; and 1 case (Case #530) has been removed (Case #530 is not assigned to any patients). Of the confirmed cases, there have been 12 deaths, and 1046 patients have been released from isolation, with the other 46 patients remaining hospitalized in isolation.
