On February 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 25,477 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 25,477 new cases, 25,104 are domestic and 373 are imported. The CECC announced 105 deaths today.

Regarding the 25,104 new domestic cases, 11,372 are male and 13,724 are female, while the gender of the other eight cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,875 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,115 in Taichung City, 3,055 in Kaohsiung City, 2,875 in Taoyuan City, 2,076 in Tainan City, 2,025 in Taipei City, 1,197 in Changhua County, 815 in Hsinchu County, 627 in Pingtung County, 619 in Miaoli County, 579 in Hsinchu City, 559 in Yunlin County, 539 in Yilan County, 473 in Keelung City, 382 in Nantou County, 350 in Chiayi County, 345 in Hualien County, 227 in Taitung County, 197 in Chiayi City, 84 in Penghu County, 82 in Kinmen County, and eight in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 105 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 53 men and 52 women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 373 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between December 18, 2022, and February 2, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 21,778,416 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,154,640. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,622,129 cases. Of the 9,622,129 confirmed cases, 49,370 are imported; 9,572,705 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 16,535 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 16,535 deaths, 16,514 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
