CECC confirms 12,657 more COVID-19 cases, including 12,397 domestic cases and 260 imported cases


On February 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 12,657 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 12,657 new cases, 12,397 are domestic and 260 are imported. The CECC announced 54 deaths today.

Regarding the 12,397 new domestic cases, 5,748 are male and 6,635 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,365 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,526 in Kaohsiung City, 1,517 in Taoyuan City, 1,497 in Taichung City, 1,024 in Taipei City, 1,004 in Tainan City, 630 in Changhua County, 404 in Hsinchu County, 339 in Pingtung County, 289 in Miaoli County, 257 in Keelung City, 252 in Hsinchu City, 243 in Yunlin County, 231 in Yilan County, 209 in Nantou County, 180 in Hualien County, 148 in Chiayi County, 106 in Chiayi City, 69 in Taitung County, 55 in Penghu County, 46 in Kinmen County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 54 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 35 men and 19 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 260 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between January 13 and February 12, 2023.

The CECC reported that a total of 22,042,091 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 12,219,407. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,821,755 cases. Of the 9,821,755 confirmed cases, 52,174 are imported; 9,769,527 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 17,157 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 17,157 deaths, 17,136 are from domestic cases and the other 21 are from imported cases.
