On December 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 27,413 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 27,413 new cases, 27,220 are domestic and 193 are imported. The CECC announced 34 deaths today.

Regarding the 27,220 new domestic cases, 12,132 are male and 15,065 are female, while the gender of the other 23 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 5,435 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,636 in Taichung City, 3,101 in Taipei City, 3,063 in Taoyuan City, 2,660 in Kaohsiung City, 2,223 in Tainan City, 1,298 in Changhua County, 995 in Hsinchu County, 871 in Hsinchu City, 701 in Miaoli County, 535 in Yunlin County, 528 in Pingtung County, 368 in Keelung City, 368 in Nantou County, 352 in Chiayi County, 299 in Yilan County, 237 in Hualien County, 232 in Chiayi City, 136 in Taitung County, 111 in Kinmen County, 65 in Penghu County, and six in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 34 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 15 men and 19 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 193 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 29 and December 29, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,746,560 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,924,012. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,821,620 cases. Of the 8,821,620 confirmed cases, 40,134 are imported; 8,781,432 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 15,215 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 15,215 deaths, 15,198 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
