CECC confirms 14,084 more COVID-19 cases, including 14,034 domestic cases and 50 imported cases


On December 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 14,084 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 14,084 new cases, 14,084 are domestic and 50 are imported. The CECC announced 38 deaths today.

Regarding the 14,034 new domestic cases, 6,369 are male and 7,658 are female, while the gender of the other seven cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,407 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,916 in Taichung City, 1,750 in Kaohsiung City, 1,647 in Taoyuan City, 1,384 in Taipei City, 1,080 in Tainan City, 713 in Changhua County, 441 in Hsinchu City, 431 in Hsinchu County, 366 in Pingtung County, 328 in Miaoli County, 312 in Yunlin County, 216 in Chiayi County, 213 in Yilan County, 213 in Nantou County, 154 in Hualien County, 152 in Keelung City, 142 in Chiayi City, 78 in Taitung County, 56 in Kinmen County, 33 in Penghu County, and two in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 38 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 16 men and 22 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 50 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 5 and December 10, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,310,011 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,838,905. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,470,187 cases. Of the 8,470,187 confirmed cases, 38,270 are imported; 8,431,863 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,679 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,679 deaths, 14,662 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
