CECC confirms 14,284 more COVID-19 cases, including 14,230 domestic cases and 54 imported cases


On December 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 14,284 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 14,284 new cases, 14,230 are domestic and 54 are imported. The CECC announced 24 deaths today.

Regarding the 14,230 new domestic cases, 6,496 are male and 7,720 are female, while the gender of the other 14 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,250 were reported in New Taipei City, 1,961 in Taichung City, 1,701 in Kaohsiung City, 1,664 in Taoyuan City, 1,394 in Taipei City, 1,060 in Tainan City, 815 in Changhua County, 472 in Hsinchu County, 433 in Hsinchu City, 399 in Miaoli County, 359 in Pingtung County, 310 in Yunlin County, 273 in Nantou County, 224 in Chiayi County, 203 in Yilan County, 179 in Keelung City, 157 in Chiayi City, 156 in Hualien County, 91 in Taitung County, 85 in Kinmen County, 41 in Penghu County, and three in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 24 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 16 men and eight women ranging in age from 20 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 54 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 10 and December 9, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,292,057 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,835,041. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,456,104 cases. Of the 8,456,104 confirmed cases, 38,213 are imported; 8,417,837 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,641 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,641 deaths, 14,624 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
