On December 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 16,034 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 16,034 new cases, 16,002 are domestic and 32 are imported. The CECC announced 22 deaths today.

Regarding the 16,002 new domestic cases, 7,413 are male and 8,568 are female, while the gender of the other 21 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 2,492 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,157 in Taichung City, 2,008 in Kaohsiung City, 1,588 in Taoyuan City, 1,336 in Taipei City, 1,314 in Tainan City, 1,029 in Changhua County, 498 in Hsinchu County, 524 in Pingtung County, 438 in Hsinchu City, 440 in Miaoli County, 465 in Yunlin County, 316 in Chiayi County, 304 in Nantou County, 199 in Hualien County, 274 in Yilan County, 135 in Keelung City, 212 in Chiayi City, 124 in Taitung County, 99 in Kinmen County, 48 in Penghu County, and two in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 22 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 14 men and 8 women ranging in age from 50 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 32 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between November 5 and December 4, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 20,212,973 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,816,571. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 8,395,477 cases. Of the 8,395,477 confirmed cases, 37,987 are imported; 8,357,436 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 14,522 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 14,522 deaths, 14,505 are from domestic cases and the other 17 are from imported cases.
